I am helping out with the 2012 Coppafeel! (www.coppafeel.org/) bike ride from Bude to Land's End which is scheduled to take place during the first weekend of May (5th-7th). Its 135 miles of pure hard slog, all in aid of raising money and awareness for Coppafeel! Coppafeel! is an amazing charity set up by Kris Hallenga who was misdiagnosed with breast cancer at the incredibly young age of 23. Having been dismissed by her doctors on more than one occasion, and having to seek a second opinion, Kris was finally diagnosed eight months later with secondary cancer in her spine. She is at stage 4, and there simply is no stage 5. Kris, with the support of her twin sister Maren created Coppafeel! with the primary purpose of educating young women (who are those not considered to be in the “at risk” group), in getting to know their breasts and not taking no for an answer from their Doctor's if they feel that something is not right. Last year we had 62 riders and we are looking to top that in 2012 with an even larger number, hopefully around the 80-90 mark. We raised a huge amount of money and left our mark on all those we encountered during our epic battle with the Cornish weather and hills. It was tons of fun and we are trying to get as many people involved as possible in 2012.
