SLEAFORD WHEELERS CHARITY 10 MILE TT.
Over many years the events I have promoted and continue to promote, have been blessed with excellent prize funds. Yet I have often heard it said "no chance of winning anything, I ride for fun".
I have now moved into another world, having taken on yet another event. Riders now have a chance to show that prizes are not everything.
The Sleaford Wheelers C.C. promote on Saturday 3rd April their Annual Charity 10 mile Time Trial.
Kick off 2 pm. HQ is St Botolph Church Hall. Grantham Road, Sleaford.
There are no prizes. Well maybe a few Easter Eggs.
All excess money after expenses have been deducted will be passed on to Cancer Research UK.
The course to be used is as usual C10/10.
It is a single carriageway out and home sporting course A reasonable surface that has a 21-08 course record. That belongs to either Gary Empson, who was the first rider to crack the hour barrier in a "30", or Jon Surtees.
The event has over the years attracted some of the best riders in the country. So how about making a note of this event in your diaries and entering this very popular Easter Saturday afternoon Time Trial.
Entry Fee is £7 cheques made payable to D. Laidlow, along with completed CTT Entry Form to arrive by 6 pmTuesday 23rd March should be sent to:
Doug Laidlow,
17 Fen Road,
Little Hale,
Sleaford,
Lincs.
NG34 9BD.
(01529) 461018.
I will hold open for a few days longer if necessary, unless the unthinkable happens and a Full Field is received by closing date. I have learned "never to say never". It happened to me in Kent last year after 34 years of trying.
