Hot conditions for this race, and the Dinnington crew were up for for the race. A real buzz again with Group A. Talk of tactics that never really materialized. Good presence in the top ten again, Johnny D getting fourth, with Scott and I think Alan also in the top ten. It felt a bit twitchy in the group as the pace slowed at times. But still safer than Ian's lone marshalling near the travellers. We hear he came away with 2 dozen clothes pegs and a few sprigs of lucky heather!!!! I managed a solo break, even though it was not my intention. But when a lorry got behind me coming to Barnby Moor I thought it was a good chance. The long straight was just too long and the group brought me back. I still think a group of two or three would stand a chance to stay away. Good to see Dawn and Steve lasting the pace. Good effort. All in all another great night.

I was a little concerned about the travellers, they started eyeing up the bike that my fellow marshall had ridden up on, asking its value etc! At one stage one of the lads had a angle grinder out to chop up a fridge (as you do), I thought he was going to have a go at the bike. Rest assurred I kept my BMW locked and in my line of sight at all times!
Anyway a good nights racing, excellent weather, well done to Dawn & steve and the rest of the squad.
