Another excellent night's racing for group A. It was a faster pace and for a time there were more of us willing to do some work. We managed to get a chain going. One or two breaks were attempted. Pete managed to get into a significant break with around 8 others. Unfortunately the young lad from Norton Wheelers was also there and so we felt we had to bring it back to help Scott with his bid for the overall classification. Yet again I seemed to do a fair stint on the front, I am hoping this will be beneficial once we hit Harworth and the greater opportunity for a break. A great result with Scott winning and a strong DRC contingent in the top 10. What happened to Andy? Was he pulled from the race?

Well thats the end of the Torworth series and what a start to the season for Dinnington, with Scott securing 1st spot for the series with 3 first places and 3 top fives (I think). John as usual has been there or there abouts in every bunch sprint, Keith has constantly been doing his bit on the front, Andy as i have said previously seems to like going as fast as he can for as long as he can with some truly momentous 'Keith-style' efforts on the front and i am starting to realise that if you stay near to Pete and Alan then you are going to end up near the front at the right time.
Highlight of the series for me apart from Scott is without doubt the start of what i am sure is going to be a fantastic racing career for Cameron. He has finished in the top 15 in every race and had a couple of top tens as well. Coupled with the fact he is currently doing 200-300 miles of training a week (which he casually dropped into conversation last night) leads me to think that he could turn out to be an exceptional racer.
As this has been my first experience of racing i would like to thank all the Dinnington members for looking after me and helping me at various times in each race. It has been a real honor to compete in Dinnington colours and one that i look forward to hopefully repeating on many more occasions.
Once again congratulations to Scott, superb effort mate and one that i hope to repeat on day. Good luck in 'B' group, ha ha!!

Congratulations to Scott and the team. A great effort! Just to quash a few rumors before any more get started. Because of the incident last week on the circuit; having successfully negotiated the final turn into the finishing straight I was barged into by another rider, held my line and sprinted off for the finish. I suspected there had been a crash behind me, didn't see it, said absolutley nothing to anybody. Just bike racing as far as I was concerned. Apparently something was said later, not to me directly, nor has anything been said to me to date. Because I was aware of the vitriol aimed at me by some memebers of other teams, don't know why, I was feeling extremely nervous last night. I decided to ride at the back for a few laps to give anybody who wanted to have a go at me the chance to get it off their chest. No one said anything. My heart wasn't realy in it, felt comfortable enough but had no intention of competing. I rode of the circuit after lap three. Hope to feel better about it for the Haworth series. After all I am only racing for fun. I get enough grief at work from youths who cannot accept responsibility for their own actions. Once again well done to the Dinnington team. See you on Sunday. Andy

Andy
We are racing therefore anything such as what occurred last week is a racing incident, it could have been you, me, Richard, Keith anyone of us who ended up being taken off. This is part and parcel of the sport that we all love to participate in.
I have to admit i was completely oblivious to all of this last night and this sort of atmosphere is something that should not exist in a sport that we all love to be part of. It is very unfortunate that you were involved in causing a lad to come off but as i stated earlier it is a racing incident, no one is to blame and you are fully vindicated in feeling peeved off. Please try not to let this spoil what has been a fantastic start to the season for Dinnington, where you have more than played your part in ensuring that we have all got round with some sterling efforts on the front.
Am not out on Sunday (Family commitments again!) not sure if you are about Monday but am going for a 2-3 hour ride if you fancy it. Think am going to head over to Harworth to suss the circuit out.
If you do fancy a ride let me know.
p.s Don't want to see you riding at the back again, you know your place. On the front giving it some hammer!!

Hey Andy, you should have no worries. I am glad nothing was said, which justifies you did nothing wrong. I was too busy up at the front to see you. I did see the other lad was stood at the side of the road at the start. I didn't see him in the race! See you all in the morning.

Just to echo what has been said, a great first series for the A group, fantastic to see the club riding so well. Good luck for harworth.
I had a solid ride in the C race last week, and enjoyed a frantic last couple of laps eye balls out trying to close down the break. I have really enjoyed the Torworth series and the new format. Long may it continue.
